La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke to Jones’ teammate Chiesa about a host of a topics involving his career. He was also asked about Inter’s interest in the Englishman.

The winger revealed Jones has asked him about playing in Italy and he also hailed the midfielder’s strengths and overall skillset.

“Jones just asked me what life is like in Italy. I told him it’s great and the weather is better than Liverpool, which aside from that is a special place. Jones is really strong technically, Inter are right to think about him.”

Chiesa also spoke about Juventus’ interest in Alisson. Appearing optimistic about the goalkeeper, he said: “Alisson? From what I hear, he’s staying in England: then we’ll see. We’re talking about one of the top five goalkeepers in the world. He’s a fantastic leader, he’s won everything and he makes the difference on the pitch and in the dressing room. I spent a lot of time with him and Mac Allister.”

Deal appears possible

It feels like a move is indeed gaining traction. Jones was keen on a move in January and he continues to reject advances from Liverpool about a renewal. His current deal runs out in 2027, which can help Inter in ironing out a deal.

Inter also have a solid foundation in the deal, which can hand them an advantage over English clubs. The player appears very interested and this can drive a move, with initial talks also indicating that both parties are probably keen on progressing discussions.
