According to a report from Matteo Morreto, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté (26) has reemerged as a potential transfer target for Real Madrid. The French international centre-back’s current contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the season.

Konaté has long been linked with a move to the Spanish capital on a free transfer. However, during the summer transfer window, it was reported that the La Liga giants were no longer interested in signing the Frenchman and were considering other targets to reinforce their defensive options. The situation seems to have changed again, with Real Madrid contacting the 26-year-old regarding his situation.

Konaté yet to reach an agreement with Liverpool

There has been no major breakthrough in contract negotiations between the former RB Leipzig defender and the Premier League champions. The French defender rejected the latest offer that was offered to him, and as things stand, he is set to leave Merseyside on a free transfer.
