London City Lionesses have signed Spanish defender María León on a deal until the summer of 2029.
Leon joins on a free transfer following her departure from Barcelona, and joins former team-mate Alexia Putellas at the club.

León signed for Barcelona in 2017 and during her nine-year spell, lifted four UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, seven Liga F titles, seven Copa de la Reina trophies and six Spanish Super Cups.
“My intention here is to reach the highest level as quickly as possible,” the 31-year-old said. “Everything in a project goes in stages and requires hard work.
“I want to keep winning and still have the determination to be able to achieve this. Hopefully we can do this with London City Lionesses.”
