AC Milan and Inter Milan have acquired San Siro and the surrounding areas after lengthy and arduous discussions with the city.

Furthermore, the clubs have hired Norman Foster to spearhead the redevelopment.

Indeed, the Serie A giants have entrusted the British firm with transforming the outdated venue into a world-class, multifunctional sports complex.

There’s hardly a better-suited architect for the task than Norman Foster.

The company has already completed several monumental projects in European football, including the new Santiago Bernabeu.

Moreover, the new Wembley Stadium stands as another landmark achievement in the company’s illustrious portfolio.

Therefore, despite the city’s reluctance to allow the project, the future of San Siro appears to be in safe hands.

“It’s an extraordinary project,” Norman Foster said. “Two teams, two owners, the city, and an exceptional iconic structure.

“However, the times we live in inevitably show that there’s a need for a new stadium.

“Everyone has a strong interest in this, including the fans. It’s too early to talk about details, but it will be a great project.

“I hope to return here soon to share the results of our work with everyone involved.

“This is the beginning of a journey,” he continued. “One that can respect that legacy while creating something new.

“So that the memories of a story that began in 1926 and continued through the ’50s, ’80s, and ’90s can remain.

“I think it’s an exciting challenge, and San Siro is a very powerful symbol that should be respected.
