Lucas Beltrán has returned to group training after almost a month out with patellar tendon discomfort, raising hopes he could feature at Oviedo this weekend. According to Superdeporte, a conservative approach to his knee issue is paying off.

The Argentine missed the last three matches while in his best form and on Wednesday rejoined the group. His knee problem had prevented normal training during a wider injury crunch.

The plan is for him to be in contention for the visit to Oviedo, although his availability will depend on how he adapts to group sessions.

His return gives Carlos Corberán a selection call. In Beltrán’s absence, he used a midfield three of Guido Rodríguez, Filip Ugrinoc and Javi Guerra, dropping a second striker or traditional number 10 to bolster the middle.

That set-up delivered two wins and one defeat. Beltrán had arguably been their most in-form player, so Corberán must weigh continuity from the recent victories against restoring the Argentine.
