Lucas Bergvall talks planned as De Zerbi signals Spurs exit possible | OneFootball

Roberto De Zerbi is prepared to let Lucas Bergvall leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

According to Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest have had a bid for the 20-year-old rejected and are expected to return with a fresh offer as Oliver Glasner looks to bolster his squad.

Bergvall, who represented Sweden at the World Cup, has told Spurs he wants to move amid concerns over limited minutes. Since De Zerbi’s arrival in March, he has made one start and played 112 minutes.

He is part of a 35-man squad on Tottenham’s pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia, yet his future remains unresolved. De Zerbi said he wants players who are proud and happy to be at the club, and he expects two players for each position.

The head coach added he has not spoken to Bergvall yet and will do so in the coming days, with the best decision to be made for all parties. If the midfielder prefers to leave, a solution would be sought with Johan Lange and chief executive Vinai Venkatesham.

De Zerbi made the comments before the match against Auckland FC in the early hours of Sunday UK time. Bergvall did not feature in the 2-0 victory.

Forest have already added free agent Xaver Schlager in midfield. Further reinforcement remains on the agenda, with Bergvall a leading target following the departure of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City.
