PSG are in talks to extend Luis Enrique’s contract by three seasons, a deal that could take him to about €20m gross a year, well above his current gross monthly pay of about one million euros.
According to L'Équipe, discussions are regular and no major obstacle appears likely. Any agreement would run to 2030, compared with 2027 at present.
The Spaniard, 55, would enter the global top five, behind Diego Simeone at Atlético de Madrid on €29.8m, Simone Inzaghi at Al Hilal on €25.1m and Pep Guardiola on €23.8m, but ahead of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal on €17.9m.
At PSG, only Mauricio Pochettino came close on nearly €14m a year. That outstripped the packages for Thomas Tuchel, €7.5m, Carlo Ancelotti, €8m, Christophe Galtier, €7.98m, and Laurent Blanc after his renewal, €8.4m. The new deal would be costly, and some agents have wryly noted the apparent elasticity of financial fair play.
It reflects the price of keeping the coach who delivered PSG’s first Champions League, with a clear playing identity, full squad buy-in and leadership aligned to his ideas, plus a wish to keep making history. In August the target was framed as retaining the European crown despite how hard that is, with ambition high and the outcome dependent on their level. A longer spell would signal overdue stability, and the club are aiming for as many European titles as possible, including an ambition to try for three or four in the next 10 years.
