Luisão says he is ashamed as he slams Prestianni in racism row | OneFootball

Luisão has condemned Gianluca Prestianni’s behaviour after Benfica’s match against Real Madrid, saying he is ashamed while defending Vinicius Jr.

According to Glorioso 1904, the former Benfica captain posted that the club’s shirt is his second skin and must be worn with dignity, adding that statements from Prestianni and Benfica were untrue. He also described the conduct at the centre of the controversy as racist.

The row flared after Vinicius Jr scored the only goal of the game against Benfica. Following his celebration, he exchanged words with Prestianni, Benfica’s number 25, then alleged he had been racially abused.

In the wake of those accusations, the 20-year-old could face a heavy sanction.

This season for Benfica, Prestianni, valued at 12 million euros, has made 30 appearances, 18 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, seven in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 1,460 minutes he has recorded two goals and one assist.
