New boss Roberto De Zerbi could be set for a big boost in defence
Luka Vuskovic has hinted that he could well return to Tottenham next season.
The in-form defender is out on loan at Hamburg in the Bundesliga, where he has scored five goals in 25 games for the German outfit.
However, the Croatian, 19, could play for Spurs next term, having signed for the north London side last summer from Hajduk Split.
Now, in an interview with German outlet Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the young centre-back has revealed that a return to England could be on the cards, despite plenty of reported interest from elsewhere on the continent.
"In football, you never know,” Vuskovci said.
“It could happen next year, or in ten years. I don't want to promise anyone anything.
“After this season, I'll be a Tottenham player again. I have a contract there until 2030."
Vuskovic’s return to Spurs could be a welcome boost to Roberto De Zerbi, who will likely see one of his central defensive options, Ben Davies, leave the club upon the expiration of his contract, with the veteran out for the rest of the campaign with a broken ankle.
There are also question marks over the futures of Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven, who could both depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium regardless of whether the club suffer a shock relegation or not.
