Lukas Hradecky (36) is set to make his return to the first team for AS Monaco for this weekend’s game against Stade Brestois, Sébastien Pocognoli has confirmed.

Injuries have limited the Finland international to just 11 appearances in all competitions since his summer move from Bayer Leverkusen. Hradecky’s last appearance for Les Monégasques came in a 3-1 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais on 3rd January.

In the meantime, it has been Philipp Kohn who has stood in. Whilst Pocognoli praised the Swiss goalkeeper’s performances in recent weeks, the Belgian manager confirmed that Hradecky would retake his spot.

“This week, Lukas has trained without any restrictions. He is available. Lukas will be back in goal. That is clear,” said Pocognoli in a press conference attended by Get French Football News. “Philipp responded to the demands and performed well […] but Lukas will have his place back, and he will bring his experience.”

Dier nearing Monaco return, Vanderson’s Ligue 1 season likely over

The Monaco manager provided an update on the other absentees, too. “We have Kassoum (Ouattara), who is maybe available, maybe Pape (Cabral), (Eric) Dier is not ready yet, Krépin (Diatta) is not yet ready either, and the same for Paul (Pogba). We have lost players, too, in the form of Vanderson and Caio (Henrique). For Vanderson, it will be difficult to see him again in Ligue 1 this season. For Caio, it will be a few weeks,” added Pocongoli.

For Vanderson, who is undergoing surgery on his hamstring injury in Finland, Pocognoli confirmed that there is still hope for him competing in this summer’s World Cup.
