FLW's Luton Town fan pundit has given his verdict on Jack Wilshere's appointment as manager

Luton Town have confirmed the appointment of Jack Wilshere as their latest manager to start the new week.
The Hatters were seeking a replacement for Matt Bloomfield following his dismissal after the side’s 2-0 loss to Stevenage on 4 October.
It was initially reported that Richie Wellens, the current Leyton Orient boss, was on their radar, but they have instead opted for the ex-Arsenal midfielder.
Wilshere has previously worked as an underage coach with the Gunners, as well as part of Johannes Hoff Thorup’s first team staff at Norwich City last season.
It has been announced that Chris Powell will also be a part of his coaching team at Kenilworth Road.
When asked about Wilshere and Powell's appointment, FLW’s Luton fan pundit Simon Mills expressed his excitement at the decision, suggesting the former midfielder can bring a new spark to the team.
He also believes the arrival of Powell as his assistant makes a lot of sense, and will help such a young coach get to grips with being manager to some players who are even older than he is.
“I’m quite excited about the appointment of Jack Wilshere,” Mills told Football League World.
“I really hope that he can bring a spark to the club to reignite things that have been on a downward slope badly for two years now.
“And he simply had to have an experienced, older statesman assistant manager because it must be pretty weird for some of the players to know that the manager is younger than them.
“So I think you need that kind of level-headed thing for discipline reasons.
“But, yeah, quite excited, and now let’s hope Luton Town start to put together a series of positive results.”
Luton were expected to be in the mix for automatic promotion before the campaign got underway, having been relegated from the Championship.
However, the Hatters struggled for consistent form under Bloomfield, who departed with the team sitting 11th in the League One table after 11 games.
The club are already five points adrift of the play-off places, as well as nine away from league leaders Stevenage.
Wilshere’s first game in charge will come on 18 October at home against Mansfield Town.
Wilshere is a highly regarded coach, so this could prove a real coup if he can make that step up to management.
There is always a risk in hiring someone with no experience as a head coach, but Wilshere is a fiery personality and won’t shirk the step up in responsibility.
Putting him alongside Powell should also prove beneficial as he is someone Wilshere can lean on for advice.
There are no guarantees in football, but on paper this looks a promising appointment for Luton, although the pressure will be on to get results quickly given their aims for the season.
