Lyon winger Malick Fofana set to return for Europa League decider against Manchester United

Lyon have been provided a timely injury boost with Belgium international winger Malick Fofana (20) returning to team training this Tuesday, according to L’Equipe. The 20-year-old is expected to make Paulo Fonseca’s matchday squad for Thursday’s Europa League quarter-finals second leg against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Lyon and the Red Devils are on level terms following last week’s 2-2 draw at Groupama Stadium.

Fofana had a month-long spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee sprain during Les Gones‘ 4-2 win against Le Havre in Ligue 1. With Ernest Nuamah unavailable for the foreseeable future after rupturing his ACL in his left knee, Fofana’s return is welcome news for Fonseca. The Belgium international has logged ten goals and five assists in all competitions this season with Lyon. Les Gones will fly to Manchester this Wednesday in the afternoon.
