Manchester City Boosted by Full Squad for Bournemouth Trip

Guardiola Receives Timely Fitness Lift

Manchester City travel to Bournemouth with Pep Guardiola finally able to call upon a full squad, a significant boost at a decisive point in the title race.

Rodri’s return from a niggling injury in Saturday’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea sharpened the mood around City. His 65 minutes at Wembley offered rhythm, authority and reassurance, with Guardiola’s side now two points behind Arsenal with two matches remaining.

Rodri Key to City Control

Rodri should retain his place in midfield, partnering Bernardo Silva in a contest Manchester City must manage with intelligence as well as urgency. Bournemouth will test City’s structure, especially at the Vitality Stadium, where the tempo can quickly become uncomfortable.

Ryan Cherki, surprisingly left on the bench at Wembley, is expected to return. Guardiola may have protected the Frenchman for this fixture, and his creativity could prove vital between the lines.

Foden and Doku Set for Roles

Antoine Semenyo may be rested on his emotional first return to his former club, with Phil Foden likely to step in. Jeremy Doku, in outstanding form, should also be restored to the starting XI, giving City pace, width and direct threat.

Omar Marmoush could be the player to drop out after being withdrawn at half-time against Chelsea.

Defensive Rotation Expected

At the back, rotation remains possible. Rayan Aït-Nouri and Ruben Dias are waiting, although Max Guehi may keep his place after an excellent Wembley display alongside Abdukodir Khusanov.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to return in goal after James Trafford started in the cup.

Predicted Manchester City XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; O’Reilly, Guehi, Khusanov, Nunes; Rodri, Bernardo; Doku, Foden, Cherki; Haaland.

Time and date: 7:30pm BST on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
