Premier League heavyweights Manchester City have thrown their hat in the ring for the signature of Barcelona youngster Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández.
This comes ahead of a predicted all-out battle for the services of the 18-year-old over the coming weeks.
Midfielder Dro has of course taken his place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
As much comes after widespread confirmation surfaced that the Spaniard has informed those in a position of power at the Spotify Camp Nou of his desire to move on this month.
Dro is understood to be unhappy with the level of senior game-time afforded to him thus far this season, therefore eager to continue his development elsewhere.
Considered a potential future star in the making, interest in a deal for the attack-minded midfielder has therefore already begun to spread.
And as alluded to above, amongst those most keen to activate Dro’s cut-price release clause are Manchester City.
As per a report from Barcelona insider Gerard Romero:
‘Dro will decide in the coming days. The saturation of players in his position led them to make the decision to leave, and now he has to decide which club he will join. From Pep’s City, to German clubs and others that are going to come forward, they have all made offers to the kid.’
