Manchester United triumphed over Bodo/Glimt in a thrilling five-goal Europa League encounter at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Garnacho took only 48 seconds to put United ahead after good off-the-ball work by Rasmus Hojlund.
The joy of the home supporters was short-lived as United’s defensive frailties allowed Bodo/Glimt to score twice in quick succession to take the lead.
Hojlund scored a late goal in first-half stoppage time to make it 2-2. The Denmark international put United back in front with a true poacher’s finish.
The Red Devils panicked in the last few minutes but held on to secure all three points.
Andre Onana – 6/10
The Cameroon international would have been disappointed when the ball squirmed through the gap between his legs for the second goal.
He was alert in coming off his line to mop up the horror back pass from Diogo Dalot.
Noussair Mazraoui – 8/10
Mazraoui played at a different level than the rest of the United players.
He demonstrated excellent intelligence and technical ability to set up Hojlund’s first goal.
Matthijs de Ligt – 5/10
Despite seeing Malacia struggle for pace, De Ligt failed to cover the space which allowed Zinckernagel to take a clear shot on goal.
Lisandro Martinez – 6/10
A solid evening for Martinez in defence. He achieved 100% passing accuracy and won all his ground duels.
Antony – 6/10
The Brazil international looked lively in the right-wing spot. Amorim is likely to use him in rotation with Amad Diallo.
Tyrell Malacia – 4/10
Making his first start in over a year and a half, Malacia appeared rusty and off the pace. He was effortlessly outpaced by Zinckernagel in the lead-up to the second goal.
Manuel Ugarte – 7/10
Ugarte played a fantastic ball to find Hojlund for his second goal.
Bruno Fernandes – 5/10
He was caught out of possession, leaving a big gap in midfield allowing Evjen to score the equaliser.
Mason Mount – 7/10
He hit the bar after a bright start to the second half and delivered a delightful backheel in the build-up to United’s third goal.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6/10
An easy tap-in to add another goal to his season’s tally. He earned a huge applause from the home crowd after his fantastic tackle to block a cross.
Garnacho could have two more goals but his poor finishing let him down.
Rasmus Hojlund – 8/10
His superb pressing from the front helped create Garnacho’s goal.
Hojlund then showcased a stunning first touch followed by a clinical finish to level the score for United. His trademark poacher’s finish in the second half proved to be the decisive goal of the match.
Diogo Dalot – 4/10
Dalot came on for Malacia at half-time and was responsible for three sloppy passes that nearly cost United.
Marcus Rashford – 6/10
Rashford had a lively 30-minute cameo. He could have scored, but like Garnacho, his finishing was off-target.
Amad Diallo – 6/10
Diallo could have had two assists but his teammates couldn’t capitalise on his clever passes.
Luke Shaw – 6/10
He made no mistakes and gained valuable minutes to build his fitness back up.
Casemiro – 5/10
The veteran replaced De Ligt and took up the role of central centre-back.
He looked uncomfortable and earned a yellow card for a deliberate handball.
