A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is the subject of big-money interest on the part of Premier League giants Manchester United.

The player in question? Fermín López.

Midfielder Fermín is for his part of course in the midst of what has been a spectacular individual campaign to date.

Having seemingly won the battle with Dani Olmo for first-choice attacking midfield duties in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad, the 22-year-old has taken his production in the final third to a new level altogether.

Across 39 appearances in all competitions, Fermín has racked up 12 goals and a head-turning 16 assists.

With such stellar exploits comes inevitable outside interest, with a host of clubs from across the continent understood to be keen admirers of the Spanish international’s talents.

One such outfit, it has this week been claimed, come in the form of Manchester United.

Not only that, but the Red Devils would be willing to part with a massive sum to bring Fermín to Old Trafford for next season.

As per a report from journalist Jose Alvarez Haya, speaking on El Chiringuito TV, United could put €100 million on the negotiation table at the Spotify Camp Nou this summer.

Crucially, however, neither Fermín nor Barcelona have any interest in a parting of ways as things stand.
