Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford is facing an uncertain future at Barcelona, but two suitors are ready to offer him alternative accommodation.

The 28-year-old finally sealed his dream move to the Blaugrana last summer, joining the club on loan with an option to buy for €30 million (circa £26m).

Although he’s playing second fiddle behind Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, the Englishman has made the most out of his chances, as evidenced by his solid numbers.

Barcelona remain undecided on Marcus Rashford

Despite his exploits at Camp Nou, Rashford’s permanent transfer remains up in the air, as Barcelona aren’t entirely convinced about splashing €26 million to keep him beyond the current campaign.

The Blaugrana have been trying to reopen negotiations with Man Utd while requesting a discount. Nevertheless, several reports in the British media confirmed that the Premier League giants are in no mood to discuss new terms, insisting that the LaLiga leaders must either activate the optional clause by paying the sum agreed upon last summer, or simply send the attacker back to Carrington.

A recent report from ESPN also revealed that Rashford is no longer an unwelcome figure at Man Utd following Ruben Amorim’s departure, so the club wouldn’t mind bringing him back to back to the fold, even though the priority is to cash in on his services.

PSG & AC Milan lurking as Barcelona negotiate with Man Utd

According to The Daily Briefing, Barcelona’s re-emerging financial ‘issue’ could prevent them from buying Rashford, but it could also be a ploy to lower the asking price.

Either way, the Catalans’ stance has opened the door for other suitors to pounce on the situation and try to secure the England international’s services next summer.

The source reveals that AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have already enquired about the 28-year-old’s availability. Both clubs were linked with the player last year.

TDB expects other clubs to join the race if Barcelona decide to pull out. Nevertheless, Rashford is still keen to extend his Spanish experience, and the Blaugrana are still tipped to find an arrangement with Man Utd.

Juan Laporta and Deco could try to mitigate the financial cost of the operation by proposing multi-year instalments, a solution that the Red Devils shouldn’t object to.
