Manchester United’s move for Atalanta’s Ederson had been all but confirmed, but has now hit an unexpected roadblock.
The Brazilian has been called up last minute to the World Cup by Carlo Ancelotti, following an injury to Wesley. Previously left out of the squad, The Mirror report that the 26-year-old’s inclusion could stall his move to Old Trafford.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur have had not one but two bids rejected for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Speaking on talkSPORT, Brighton chief executive Paul Barber confirmed that the Seagulls have twice turned down offers from Spurs for the centre-back in recent weeks.
Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi, of course, worked with the Dutch defender during his time on the south coast. With just one year remaining on the 26-year-old’s Brighton contract, Spurs are confident that a deal can be struck.
Van Hecke is not the only Premier League centre-back Spurs have been targeting. Tottenham have also been chasing Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi for some time. The Argentina International will be available as a free agent this summer. Fabrizio Romano claims that the deal for Senesi has now been completed.
It has been a busy couple of weeks for De Zerbi’s side, who have already announced the signing of Andy Robertson, also as a free agent.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan have submitted an offer for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. However, it is believed to be a long way short of Liverpool’s valuation of the 25-year-old.
