Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono ahead of the summer transfer window. However, they’re not the only ones watching closely. The highly rated teenager is on the radar of several top European clubs.

According to a recent report from TyC Sports reporter Germán García Grova, PSG have already started talks and see Mastantuono as one of their top targets. The French side now joins a growing group of teams chasing the Argentine prospect.

Transfer expert César Luis Merlo previously reported that Manchester United have shown the strongest interest so far, even scouting Mastantuono in person. The Premier League club is well aware of his €45 million release clause, which could play a major role in how any deal unfolds.

GIVE ME SPORT reported on Monday, citing sources, that Manchester United are weighing up whether to step up their pursuit of Mastantuono by activating the release clause in his River Plate contract, especially after learning that Real Madrid are in no hurry to make a move for the young talent.

The report says Manchester United have recognized a window of opportunity to sign Mastantuono in the coming months. Real Madrid have decided they’re not yet ready to make a move for him despite having tracked him.

Manchester United decision-makers are growing more confident about landing Mastantuono, according to GIVE ME SPORT, but winning the Europa League—and clinching a Champions League spot—could be key to fending off rival suitors.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can outpace the competition for the highly rated Argentine, who has a release clause of around £35 million.
