Manchester United duo Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho were deemed irreplaceable not so long ago, but the situation has drastically changed as of late.
The two youngsters made their senior debuts during Erik ten Hag’s reign and swiftly became first-team regulars. The Argentine cemented himself as one of the most renowned young wingers on the globe, even breaking through the Albiceleste’s star-packed squad. The 19-year-old Englishman did likewise with the Three Lions after emerging as one of the most complete young midfielders in the Premier League.
But according to recent reports, the two youngsters might not dwell at Old Trafford for too long, contrary to previous belief. While both are running on contracts valid until 2027, the management is apparently struggling to put their signatures on long-term deals, as they haven’t been able to agree on the wage package.
Chelsea have reportedly emerged as the favourites to land Mainoo, while Atletico Madrid have rekindled their interest in Garnacho.
But despite the two youngsters’ delicate situations, the Daily Mail reveals that Man Utd still have two ‘untouchable’ players within their ranks.

The first is Amad Diallo who cemented himself as one of the few bright lights of an otherwise abysmal campaign for the Red Devils. The 22-year-old has been decisive under Ruben Amorim’s command, as evidenced by his Derby heroics.
The Ivorian’s contract will expire at the end of the season. But instead of triggering a one-year extension, United are keen to find a long-term solution. The two parties are on the cusp of inking a new contract according to several sources.
The second untouchable is summer signing Leny Yoro. The young French defender’s first few months at Carrington were hampered by a foot injury, but he has recently made his return to the slowly to the pitch, and is slowly but surely carving himself an important role at the back.
