Manchester United's players made a U-turn on a plan to walk out in Adidas jackets in support of the LGBTQ+ community, according to Adam Crafton of The Athletic.
The report suggests that Noussair Mazraoui refused to wear the jacket over religious concerns during the walkout ahead of their game against Everton, and rather than make him stand on his own, the players opted to make a joint stance.
That meant none of the players emerged wearing the apparel.
Adidas have declined to make a comment on the issue, however it is reported that the company are disappointed over the decision, as are some members of the Manchester United squad.
The club has its own LGBTQ+ supporters' group, and Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans recently spoke with its members.
Captain Bruno Fernandes has also spoken out in support of the rainbow armband initiative.
