Manchester United are reportedly following Monaco wingback Vanderson with great interest, but could have competition from Tottenham.

The source thus claims that the Reds could fancy their chances in the race for Vanderson who can free himself from his contract with Monaco thanks to a £30 million release clause.

The 23-year-old is a Brazilian right-back who can also play in more advanced roles on the right flank. The Gremio native has been plying his trade at the French principality club since 2022.

This season, he has contributed with two goals and five assists in 40 appearances in all competitions, and has been lauded for his ‘phenomenal’ ability to dribble at top speed.

As the source explains, Vanderson would be a natural fit in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system. His arrival would bolster the manager’s options on the right flank, which currently includes Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui.

With a new wingback joining the fray, Amad Diallo would be free to play exclusively in a more advanced role.

Another duel with Spurs?

Nevertheless, the report reveals that United isn’t the Brazilian’s solitary Premier League suitor, as the list includes Liverpool and Manchester City, but MUFC and Spurs are leading the chase.

These two clubs will also clash heads in the final of the Europa League next Wednesday with both sides desperate to end a miserable campaign with some silverware, as well as an unlikely spot in the Champions League.
