Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s match at Molineux. It is the first game in the new Premier League season for both teams, and they’ll both be eager to start a new campaign on the front foot.

On their day, Wolves can be a handful. Under manager Vitor Pereira, they are resolute at the back and pack a punch in the final third. Midfielders Joao Gomes and Andre look to be key players for Vitor Pereira’s side this season. There are three players unavailable due to injury for Manchester City today. Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic and Savinho will miss today’s match as per Pep Guardiola’s update yesterday. Phil Foden and Rodri could feature today after overcoming the injury issues that saw them miss Manchester City’s 3-nil win over Palermo.

It was reported earlier today that James Trafford would start in goal for Manchester City. That report has proven to be correct. Ederson isn’t included the Manchester City matchday squad for today’s fixture. Rodri and Phil Foden aren’t on the bench for today’s match.
