In a recent post on X, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Manchester City are set to sign Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga. It is believed that the Mancunian club have agreed on a £10m deal to recruit the English youngster this summer.
Monga caught the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Leicester’s attack in the previous campaign. The 16-year-old scored one goal and earned two assists in 30 appearances for the Foxes last season across multiple competitions.
The English talent is currently one of the most promising young wide players in the EFL Championship. Therefore, it is no surprise that Man City are eyeing a move to bring him to the Etihad Stadium in this transfer period.
However, Monga is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth at the Mancunian club if they manage to snap him up this off-season.

Monga has got the pace to cause a few headaches for his marker out in the wide positions. He can shoot the ball well from long range and can create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third.
Monga is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also function as a right-winger if told to do so by his manager. However, there are some question marks over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. Still, there is no denying that Man City would do well to bring him on board this off-season.
We can expect Monga to enhance the quality of Enzo Maresca’s frontline in the long run. He has what it takes to fight for a place in the Mancunian club’s match-day squad next season.
At 16, Monga has got the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each year. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League. With all things considered, Monga is undoubtedly a prospect for in the future, so Man City should go all out to sign him this summer.
