Manchester City are amongst a host of clubs vying for the signature of Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens this summer, as per a new report.

City are expected to shuffle their ranks in several positions after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign that saw them fail to mount a challenge for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tites.

Hugo Viana will take over from Txiki Begiristain as director of football in the coming months and is believed to be conducting an audit of Pep Guardiola’s current list of options before the summer transfer window opens for City to conduct a series of dealings.

City’s revamp will begin in goal as uncertainty looms over the future(s) of Ederson and Stefan Ortega Moreno. Ederson wanted to move to the Saudi Pro League last summer but a move failed to materialise with no suitor club understood to be have met Manchester City’s valuation of the Brazilian.

Ederson has endured a mixed bag season and despite having registered four assists in the Premier League this season – the latest setting up James McAtee for City’s fourth in a 5-2 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend – the 31-year-old could well leave the Premier League champions after eight years in Manchester.

Ortega Moreno has previously proved to be a reliable stand-in for Ederson but has struggled and made a number of high-profile errors when coming in for City’s number one this season, raising doubts over the Germany international’s long-term future at the Etihad Stadium.

Whilst on international duty in March, Ortega Moreno refused to rule out a move away from Manchester City this summer and there remains interest from Germany in the 32-year-old, who alongside Ederson is out of contract next summer.

City and Guardiola will pull no punches in the summer and are expected to make a number of difficult contract decisions within the first-team – and changes between the sticks could well be in the offing and it is even possible the Blues recruit more than one goalkeeper to freshen their ranks in goal ahead of the 2025-26 season.

According to Caught Offside, Manchester City are interested in signing 22-year-old Belgian shotstopper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp and are facing strong competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs in their pursuit of a new goalkeeper.

Lammens is understood to have attracted interest from each of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Newcastle United, Arsenal, West Ham and Wolves – which could see a bidding war spark should Antwerp look to cash in on their number one this summer.
