Manchester City are ready to rekindle their interest in signing Newcastle defender Tino Livramento in the summer.
City expressed interest in signing Livramento last summer but enquires were swiftly shut down. The 22-year-old has impressed since joining Newcastle from Southampton in 2023, making 88 appearances and winning three senior caps for England.
City view Livramento as a potential long-term option at right-back, a position that has been filled by mdifielder Matheus Nunes of late, following Kyle Walker’s exit in January.
The addition of Livramento would also boost City’s homegrown stocks, having registered just seven players to fill that quota in 2025/26. Of those, John Stones is out of contract in the summer and Kalvin Phillips is expected to move on.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United could rival City for Livramento. The club’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, held the same position at Southampton when Livramento played for the south coast side.
