Officials at Manchester City have reportedly set a firm maximum intended spend for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush this month.

The Premier League champions are understood to have made the Egypt international forward their primary ambitious target this month, and while they realise it will be a challenge to tempt his club into a sale, there is a desire to make a firm attempt.

From the side of talks with the player and his representatives, the belief at present is that a verbal agreement over personal terms has already been reached, and Omar Marmoush has a clear desire to make a move to Manchester City happen this month.

That desire is also now known both within the Eintracht Frankfurt boardroom and dressing room, with talks involving Manchester City officials well underway over how much it would take for the Bundesliga side to sanction a move.

Pep Guardiola has previously insisted during press conferences that City are aware they will perhaps need to overpay in order to sign their highest-profile targets, but will also stand firm on valuations where necessary.

And according to the information of The Times’ Paul Hirst and Constantin Eckner, while Eintracht Frankfurt intend to keep their squad together for the ongoing season, they could be willing to let Omar Marmoush leave the club this month for a fee of £67 million.

However, from the side of Manchester City, the Premier League champions are reportedly hoping to spend no more than £50 million on the forward, despite the belief in various quarters that the Egyptian forward is their number one priority this month.

Marmoush could be one of four new signings for the Etihad Stadium club this month as they make a start on a squad rebuild in 2025, with two centre-backs eyed for arrivals this month alongside a central midfielder.

City are progressing positively in their chase of Lens and Uzbekistan centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov, while there is also an intention to bring Palmeiras and Brazilian youth international Vitor Reis to the club this month.

Some reports have also indicated that while central midfield remains an area of concern for City officials, it is becoming the hardest position to identify a suitable target in, while others have pointed towards Juventus’ Douglas Luiz as a possible solution.
