Manchester City have announced the signing of Scottish international goalkeeper Eartha Cumings.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the club and joins the club from FC Rosengard.

City’s director of women’s football, Therese Sjogran said: “Eartha is an impressive goalkeeper that will bring even more international experience to our squad.

“She gives her all on and off the pitch, and we’re looking forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Cumings is the latest player to join the club after Sydney Lohmann, Iman Beney and Jade Rose.

There have also been some notable departures, including Chloe Kelly to Women’s Super League rivals Arsenal.

Kelly is the favourite with betting sites to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award after her heroics at Euro 2025.

Who is new Manchester City signing Eartha Cumings?

Eartha Cumings joins Manchester City after two years at Swedish club FC Rosengard.

The 26-year-old played every game in the 2024 season, conceding nine goals and recording 18 clean sheets to help her team to the Damallsvenskan title.

This led to her receiving the Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Before her move to Sweden, she played for a host of English clubs, including Liverpool, Everton and Charlton.

Cumings has also represented Scotland on three occasions, keeping two clean sheets.

At Manchester City, she will face competition for a goalkeeping spot alongside Lioness Khiara Kheating and Eve Annets.

What did Cumings say after joining Manchester City?

Earth Cumings said it was ‘nice to come close to home’ after signing for Manchester City from Swedish club FC Rosengard.

In her first interview with the club’s website, she said: “I think it’s an exciting team.

“There are a lot of young players, but also a bit of a mix [with experience] and obviously, City has really high ambitions and aspirations, so it’s an exciting time to be a part of this team.

“From the outside, it looks like a really great goalkeeper union and like it looks like they have great fun. So, I’m looking forward to being part of it.”

Cummings could feature for Man City during pre-season, with their next match coming against Manchester United on Saturday.

Manchester City have a tough start to the 2025-26 Women’s Super League season, with a trip to champions Chelsea on the opening day of the campaign.

After the trip to Stamford Bridge, City also face Brighton, Tottenham and London City Lionesses during the opening month of the campaign.
