With Arsenal dropping points yesterday after drawing 2-all with Sunderland the opportunity is there for City or Liverpool to gain ground on Mikel Arteta’s side. Today’s match was a big match anyway but it does feel that little bit bigger after yesterday’s results.

Mateo Kovacic will miss today’s match due to a heel injury. The Croatian midfielder will be sidelined for several months which is a cruel blow for Kovacic and his team.

Rodri is unlikely to be risked for today’s match as per Pep Guardiola’s update on Friday. The Spanish international is likely to be given time to get himself fully fit so it would be a surprise if he made the bench at the Etihad today.

Outside of those two players, Pep Guardiola will have almost a full squad to choose from for today’s match.
