According to SportItalia, Manchester United and Atalanta have agreed a price for Brazilian midfielder Ederson, and a permanent transfer is said to be close.

The report states United would pay €48m guaranteed plus up to €5m in bonuses, for a potential €53m total. Other reports put the package at €45m plus €5m in add-ons, totalling €50m.

If confirmed, the deal would rank among Atalanta’s biggest sales. Their record departure is Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United, reported at €75m plus up to €10m in bonuses.

Recent high-value exits include Mateo Retegui to Al-Qadsiah for €62m last summer, Teun Koopmeiners to Juventus for a total of €58m and Cristian Romero to Tottenham for around €53m.

Ederson has 30 Serie A appearances this season with two goals and one assist, plus one goal and one assist from 9 Champions League outings.

He has been with Atalanta for the past four seasons after joining from Salernitana in 2022.
