In a recent report, The Athletic claimed that Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall. It has been stated that the Red Devils have identified the English talent as a target for this summer transfer window.
Hall served as a key piece in Newcastle boss Eddie Howe’s squad in the previous campaign when he produced a run of solid performances in the Premier League. The 21-year-old scored one goal and grabbed a couple of assists in 47 matches for the Magpies last season across all fronts.
The English defender is currently among the most promising young full-backs in the Premier League. Thus, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are eager to snap him up this off-season.
His current contract at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Man United to sign him on the cheap this summer.

Hall loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his side inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and can create the odd chance for his teammates from the left flank.
However, the English sensation needs to add more goals and assists to his game. Hall is primarily a left-back but can also operate as a left-winger or play as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so by his manager. He is already quite used to the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.
We can expect Hall to add more quality to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s backline in the long run. He has what it takes to compete for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford next season.
At 21, the future looks quite promising for Hall as long as he continues to improve with each year. All in all, he would be a great fit for Man United’s needs in the long run. Hence, Carrick should focus on going all out to get a deal done for him this summer.
