In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester United are showing interest in recruiting Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to rival Aston Villa in the race to land the Spanish defender this summer.

Balde’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football

Balde has served as an important player in Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s squad this season. However, he has often fallen behind Joao Cancelo in the Catalan club’s pecking order.

The 22-year-old has made 38 appearances for his current employers this season on all fronts. He is currently one of the most gifted full-backs in La Liga. Thus, it is no surprise that Man United are eager to snap Balde up this summer.

His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Will Balde Be A Good Fit For Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick?

Balde loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a good passer as well.

The Spanish sensation can deliver some inviting crosses into the opposition penalty area. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to bring him on board this off-season.

We can expect Balde to bring more quality and depth to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s defence. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford next season.

At 22, Balde has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Hence, it is only logical for Man United to try and bring him to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
