In a recent report, Fussball Europa revealed that Manchester United are showing interest in Rosario Central defender Juan Gimenez. It has been stated that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Argentine youngster to Old Trafford this summer.
Gimenez has come through the youth ranks of Rosario Central before breaking out as a first-team starter for them last season. The Argentine whizkid has already made 22 senior appearances for his hometown club so far, scoring one goal and picking up one assist in various competitions.
The 19-year-old has been a rock at the back for the Argentine club and is currently amongst the best young defenders in South America. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level.
His current contract at Rosario will expire at the end of this year which could give Man United a chance to land him on a cut-price deal this summer.

Gimenez is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and can use his strong 1.87m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels at the back.
However, as mentioned earlier, the Argentine prospect is still quite inexperienced in top-flight football and would need time to adjust to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man United manage to get a deal done for him this off-season.
Gimenez would no doubt enhance the quality of Ruben Amorim’s defence in the long run. He has the potential to be a future starter at Old Trafford and could go on to form a solid partnership with Leny Yoro at the Mancunian club over the next decade.
At 19, the future looks quite bright for Gimenez. He is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Amorim should focus on stepping up his efforts to land him soon.
