In a recent report, The Sun claimed that Manchester United are still in the hunt for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are hoping to sign the English talent despite Bournemouth’s £80m valuation for their prized asset.

Scott’s Good Run Of Form In The Premier League

Scott enjoyed a solid campaign at the English club after he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 22-year-old registered four goals and earned one assist in 39 appearances for Bournemouth last season in various competitions.

The English sensation is currently one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Red Devils are hoping to sign him in this transfer window.

His current contract at the Vitality Stadium will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Man United to land him later this year.

Should Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick Snap Scott Up This Summer?

Scott is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is an accurate passer as well.

The English sensation can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. Scott is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Old Trafford.

We can expect Scott to add more energy and dynamism to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.

At 22, Scott has got the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Hence, the Red Devils would be wise to go all out to snap him up before the end of this summer transfer window.
