Manchester United are again being linked with Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, with The Athletic reporting he is among several options as Altay Bayindir is likely to depart this window.
Leeds keeper Karl Darlow is also on the list and is due to become a free agent when his Elland Road deal expires at the end of the month. Both he and Johnstone would count as homegrown, something United must factor in for their Champions League squad.
Marshall Munetsi’s permanent switch from Wolves to Paris FC now looks remote. The Zimbabwe midfielder spent the second half of the season on loan in France after Rob Edwards deemed him surplus to requirements, and while a full transfer was sought, the prospects are currently viewed as very low. Wolves are likely to seek another destination this summer, and the 29-year-old still has two years left on his Molineux contract.
Aston Villa are monitoring Cody Gakpo’s situation at Liverpool, with his future under a little doubt after the exit of Arne Slot and uncertainty over his role with new Reds boss, Andoni Iraola. According to Teamtalk, Liverpool are not actively looking to sell at this stage, although that could change later in the summer.
Villa are named among several suitors, alongside Tottenham, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid, with further interest reported on the continent.
