Manchester United have handed an indefinite ban to a supporter who assaulted Frank Ilet.
Ilet has garnered a huge social media following over the past year as he known as the Man Utd fan refusing to cut his hair until the club win five games in a row.
However, a fellow Man United fan took issue with Ilet’s stunt during the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford last month.
A video which was shared on social media a day after the fixture showed the supporter in question coming up behind Ilet and violently shaking him by his locks in the concourse.
As per Mail Online, the aforementioned fan has since been identified and banned from the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ for an indefinite period.
Ilet received plenty of messages of love and support after the footage went viral, and made it clear he has no intention of going back on his promise.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News after the incident, he said: “It was always and always will be to spread humour and positivity to United fans in a difficult time.
“I have, of course, been a Manchester United fan my entire life and my intention with this challenge was never to highlight Manchester United’s flaws.”
Ilet began the challenge when the Red Devils were struggling to put wins together under previous manager Erik ten Hag, though things have not improved since Ruben Amorim was appointed.
The closest Ilet has come to shaving his hair was in late January when United won three games in a row across all competitions, but fell short of the target when they were beaten at home by Crystal Palace.
Since then the Red Devils’ longest winning streak has been two games. A run they are a currently on after beating Liverpool last weekend to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time under Amorim.
Man United welcome Brighton to Old Trafford on Saturday hoping to make it three wins in a row, and move Ilet one step closer to a long overdue haircut.
