Manchester United keeping tabs on Barcelona midfielder linked with summer exit | OneFootball

The most high-priority task for FC Barcelona in the coming few days is going to be the completion of several sale operations, as they want to get the income from these sales as soon as possible, particularly before 30th June, so it can be shown in the statements for the current 2025-26 financial year.

In this regard, one of the operations they have pinned their hopes on is the departure of the midfielder Marc Casado, who lost quite a lot of prominence in Hansi Flick’s plans during the last season, and is also not expected to feature too highly next season as well as the German coach has seven players for three midfield spots.

The Spaniard has been linked with several sides in the last few weeks, with Atletico Madrid, despite conflicting reports, being the most prominent of these sides, while Saudi Arabia also remains an alluring option for him. Bayer Leverkusen from the Bundesliga are also reportedly interested in him.

Meanwhile, Casado is also enjoying interest from the Premier League, as Mundo Deportivo cites The Sun to claim that Manchester United still remain linked with him, particularly after the appointment of Michael Carrick as their permanent head-coach.

For now, there have been no official offers or movements, but some reports from England suggest that the Red Devils have already inquired  about the player. The fact that he is being represented by Jorge Mendes, who has good relations with the Manchester club, can also facilitate the operation.

The Premier League side likes Marc Casado particularly for his defensive intensity, recovery ability, and good distribution skills, and there is no doubt with his skillset, he can prove to be an important player for Carrick. However, for now, it remains to be seen where his future, which increasingly looks to be away from Barcelona, lies.
