Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are working toward a solution regarding the transfer of Manuel Ugarte. As several reports continue to emerge, talkSPORT’s Alex Crook provided information that paints a picture of what type of deal will likely be the outcome.

L’Equipe reported this week that PSG and Manchester United are close to finalizing a loan deal for Ugarte, which contains a €60 million obligation to buy. The two clubs have advanced considerably in their negotiations, and the transfer could be wrapped up within the next few hours.

Furthermore, Crook revealed on the latest episode of Inside Devils that he expects the obligation deal to be the one both clubs eventually agree on to ensure that a transfer happens.

“I think, at the moment, an obligation to buy after an initial loan deal looks the most likely,” Crook said. “I think United is still hopeful that maybe they can move a player out and, therefore, be able to do the transfer straight away.

“The issue has always been the fee. The valuation the PSG have got is slightly higher than what United wants to pay for a player, [who] let’s be honest, it’s pretty clear he’s not got a future in Paris.

“He’s been training away from the first team, I believe. As you said, it’s made it clear that he wants to move to United. So I think it will happen. And that really is the main focus between now and next Friday.”

Ugarte featured in 37 games for the reigning Ligue 1 champions last season, contributing three assists. The former Sporting Lisbon star started the season strongly, but his playing time decreased in the latter half as he was mainly used as a rotational player rather than a regular starter.
