However, United are ready to increase their offer to sign the talented winger (h/t journalist Fabrizio Romano).

They are confident of wrapping up a move as discussions continue between the two clubs over the structure of the deal and bonuses.

Mbeumo has a year left on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Brentford having the option to extend it by 12 months.

He enjoyed his most productive season in 2024-25, bagging 20 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

His excellent performances have caught the attention of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, but the forward has made it clear he only wants to join United.

United will not be able to offer any form of European football next season after losing the Europa League final to Spurs and finishing 15th in the Premier League.

Brentford are holding out for a £65m fee, but United want to avoid overpaying for players in the market.

Given that Mbeumo is keen to join United and the valuation gap is low, a compromise between the two clubs is expected to be agreed.
