Manchester United produced a remarkable comeback to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates, continuing Michael Carrick’s dream start as interim head coach and handing the Gunners their first home defeat of the season.

Arsenal started brightly and looked the more threatening side early on and in the 29th minute, the Gunners went ahead after Lisandro Martinez deflected Martin Odegaard’s pass into his own net, giving Arsenal the lead.

United had to fight back, and just before half-time, Bryan Mbeumo capitalised on a mis-hit pass from Martin Zubimendi, rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home to level the score at 1-1.

The second half saw the visitors assert themselves. Just five minutes after the restart, Patrick Dorgu unleashed a superb half-volley from the edge of the box to put the visitors 2-1 up. Dorgu had another chance moments later, but his effort went wide.

The hosts pressed hard, and in the 84th minute, a corner led to Mikel Merino scrambling the ball over the line to bring Arsenal level once again at 2-2.

United responded almost immediately. Matheus Cunha picked up the ball in midfield with space to run and curled a thunderous strike into the far corner, restoring the lead and ultimately securing the win.

Mikel Arteta's side continued to push, but the Red Devils’ defence held firm in the closing minutes, with Noussair Mazraoui brought on to help see out the victory.

The win was a statement performance from United, showing both attacking creativity and defensive resilience.

Arsenal, meanwhile, saw their their lead at the top of the Premier League reduced to four points.
