Real Madrid are planning a summer midfield signing, and Manchester United target Bruno Guimaraes has entered their thinking. The Newcastle United captain would prefer to join Real Madrid.
Reuters reports that Madrid have recently registered their interest in the Brazil international.
Manchester United have already held talks with Guimaraes’ camp for a number of weeks, and while those discussions have gone well, Madrid’s emergence has shifted the picture. Newcastle are likely to prioritise a sale outside the Premier League.
Madrid have drawn up multiple targets, with Rodri Hernandez, Vitinha and Chema Andres all linked.
Midfield has been a problem since Toni Kroos retired in 2024, an issue left unaddressed last summer and still evident this season. Guimaraes could help, although his profile differs from the former Germany international.
It remains to be seen whether Madrid push ahead with a bid in the summer window. For now, they are set to continue assessing an ever-growing shortlist.
