Reports in Italy claim that Manchester United are pushing ahead with their plans to complete the signings of midfielders Ederson from Atalanta and Italy international Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United this coming transfer window.
Both Tonali and Ederson are said to be seeking moves away from their current clubs this summer as neither Atalanta nor Newcastle will be taking part in next season’s Champions League.
Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio claim that United are ‘confident’ they will be able to pull off an ambitious double deal to revamp Michael Carrick’s midfield department.

United are certainly in the market for a midfielder to replace Casemiro, who bid farewell to Old Trafford during the team’s final home match of the season last weekend. Ederson has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several seasons, and recent reports indicate that this summer may be the window where Atalanta decide to cash in.
Depending on the source, reports claim that La Dea will entertain bids in the region of €40m-€50m for the Brazilian this summer.
Tonali has also had admirers in Manchester in recent seasons. The former Milan midfielder will not be playing in next season’s Champions League as things stand, Newcastle sitting in 11th place heading into the final week of Premier League fixtures.

Recent updates in Italy claim that Newcastle will seek a fee in excess of €90m for the Italy international, though.
