Manchester United ‘to keep’ Amad Diallo amid Newcastle interest | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano said in a social media post that Amad Diallo’s camp were told in June that Manchester United have no intention to sell him this summer, despite interest from several clubs including Newcastle United.

That position would appear to make a move to St James’ Park difficult at present, with United viewing the Ivory Coast international as part of their plans.

Diallo, 24, remains hugely popular on Wearside after a successful loan at Sunderland in 2022-23 under Tony Mowbray.

He scored 14 goals in all competitions as Sunderland reached the Championship play-offs, delivering several standout moments and becoming a fans’ favourite.

Supporters have closely followed his return to Manchester, where he has gradually established himself as a regular first-team option.

Any prospect of him joining Newcastle would shock many Sunderland fans, and for now a move appears unlikely, with United’s stance already communicated to his representatives.
