Manchester United track French wonderkid wanted by Chelsea and Tottenham

Manchester United are among three Premier League clubs linked with signing Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue.

The 19-year-old made a name for himself in Ligue 1 last season, scoring four goals and registering five assists in 31 appearances in Ligue 1.

According to The Sun, Manchester United and two other Premier League clubs are involved in the race to sign Doue this summer.

Chelsea and Tottenham join United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the France U21 international.

The report adds that Doue is a “top priority” for both Chelsea and Tottenham. Meanwhile, United continue to monitor his situation.

Doue has been with Rennes since 2011 after he joined the academy as a 6-year-old. He was called up to the first team in 2022.

The France youth international is renowned for his versatility. He can play multiple positions across midfield as well as both wings in a front three.

Last month, Fabrizio Romano tipped United as being one of the clubs tracking Doue this summer.
