Manchester United reportedly made an unsuccessful attempt to sign Juventus striker Lorenzo Anghelè in January of this year.

In recent times, United have adopted an aggressive approach when it comes to strengthening their youth setup. This has seen the Red Devils chase some of the most highly-rated talents across England and abroad.

During the recently concluded summer transfer window, United signed Mali youth international Sékou Koné.

They have also agreed personal terms with sensational teen striker Chido Obi-Martin, who decided to leave Arsenal for the Mancunian giants this summer.

It appears in recent months, United also set their sights on Turin for Anghelè.

According to Tutto Juve (via Sport Witness), United made an offer for the 19-year-old forward in January.

The likes of Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge also approached the youngster, having been left impressed with his performances for Juventus Next Gen, which is viewed as the Old Lady’s reserve team.

During the 2023/24 campaign, the Italian played as a centre forward, second striker, and attacking midfielder, and registered nine goals and four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Despite several offers, Anghelè “said no” to his “important” suitors, deciding to continue at Juventus, who handed him his senior debut against Hellas Verona in Serie A in August.

Juve consider the Italy U20 international “non-transferable” and have reportedly opened talks with his agent to reward him with a new contract.

Meanwhile, the Italian giants also tried to lure a United forward in recent months but failed in their attempts.

Late in August, Juventus reportedly held serious talks with the Premier League giants over signing Jadon Sancho on a loan deal. However, Chelsea lured the Englishman to Stamford Bridge after offering more favourable terms, including an obligation to buy, to United.
