Manchester United should be getting ready for a big transformation in their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club have had a disastrous season, and a number of players might leave the club this summer. The club need strong decisions to be made, and one of the players who might be leaving is Antony.
The Brazilian had been one of the most talented and skilful players when he was at Ajax, which forced United to make a move for him. However, Antony could not replicate those performances in the United Jersey, and he was loaned out to Real Betis till the end of the season in the winter transfer window. He has found his footing in La Liga, and discussions are on whether Betis will sign him permanently.
United definitely want to sell him and want to get the money from his sale. Fichajes has reported that the Red Devils want to sign Jamie Gittens from the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for Antony in the summer. The Englishman has been performing sensationally well in the Bundesliga and is a wanted target of many clubs.
Gittens has scored 8 goals in 28 matches so far in the Bundesliga 2024/2025 season. 5 of the 8 goals were scored at home, while he scored 3 goals at away games. Overall, Gittens’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.44. Moreover, Jamie Bynoe Gittens’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 11 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.6 per 90 minutes, and his non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.40.
The 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger is a sensational talent. His blistering pace and sharp dribbling make him a nightmare for defenders, often cutting inside from the left with his lethal right foot. The winger has got an eye for a goal, too, with 11 strikes this season, plus clever passing to unlock defenses. His versatility—able to play either wing or even up top—adds dynamism. If Manchester United sign him, they would gain a game-changer who could revitalize their attack. With United’s wingers struggling for consistency, Gittens’ flair and youth would inject energy and long-term potential, giving Ruben Amorim a spark to ignite Old Trafford.
