It is no secret that Real Madrid are gearing up for a busy 2026, with the club likely to major changes as new Xabi Alonso looks to strengthen his footprint in the team.
The likes of Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr., Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba have all been linked with a move away from Real Madrid at the end of the season.
More players could soon join the list, with Federico Valverde being the latest one to be linked with a move elsewhere.
According to Mirror, as relayed by AS, Manchester United are eyeing a shock move for Real Madrid’s midfield general Federico Valverde.
The club are closely monitoring his situation at the Bernabeu, knowing he is not currently in the best of terms with coach Alonso.

Although the Real Madrid coach highly respects Valverde and his abilities, the player has not been happy due to Alonso’s insistence on playing him out of position numerous times.
The Uruguayan international is also reportedly unhappy with Alonso’s management style.
Although he did have a key role to play in rallying the team forward in the recent win over Olympiacos, there still seems to be some tension between him and the coach.
That is something Manchester United are very much aware of and are looking to capitalise, should a situation arise in the near future.
Manchester United are aware that the operation could be complex, but the club are hopeful of pulling off a Casemiro-type deal.
The report does, however, suggest that Valverde has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, despite his apparently tense relationship with Alonso.
