Manchester United willing to ‘take a gamble’ on Serie A midfielder | OneFootball

Manchester United are eyeing a surprise move for Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners this summer. 

The Red Devils are planning to overhaul their midfield, with Casemiro set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season. 

The club want to add two midfielders, but they could pursue a third if Manuel Ugarte also departs. 

According to Tuttosport, United are willing to ‘take a gamble’ on Koopmeiners in the upcoming transfer window. 

The 28-year-old joined Juventus in a €52 million deal in 2024, but he has failed to live up to expectations.

The Dutchman has played in different positions but has failed to establish himself as a regular under Luciano Spalletti. 

He has featured in 28 Serie A games this season, but 12 of them have come off the bench. 

Juventus are ready to part company with Koopmeiners, who has a contract at the Allianz Stadium until 2029. 

United and Galatasaray have shown interest in the Netherlands international, who could be signed for €30m. 

Koopmeiners initially played as an attacking midfielder for Juventus but has mainly taken on the defensive role this season. He also played as a central defender. 

Given his struggles in Serie A, United may be wary of pursuing a deal for Koopmeiners. 

However, the Premier League giants could make a concrete move if Juventus lower their asking price.
