Manchester United travel to face League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday night, desperately needing a victory to kick-start their season.
After a winless start in the Premier League, this Carabao Cup tie is a crucial opportunity for Rúben Amorim to build confidence, though he is expected to rotate his starting eleven.
Rúben Amorim will rotate his squad for the trip to Blundell Park, but is expected to field a strong side featuring several of his new signings. Summer signing Benjamin Šeško is expected to be handed his first start for the club. In goal, André Onana is likely to be recalled for his first appearance of the season.
The defence could feature regular starter Leny Yoro, who has played in both Premier League games so far, potentially alongside youngster Tyler Fredricson and the experienced Harry Maguire.
Kobbie Mainoo could come into the engine room, having been an unused substitute in the opening two league games. Joshua Zirkzee is also among those looking for minutes. The manager remains without the injured duo of Lisandro Martínez and Noussair Mazraoui.
Manchester United predicted XI: Onana; Yoro, Fredricson, Maguire; Amad, Mainoo, Ugarte, Dalot; Zirkzee, Šeško, Mount.
The Carabao Cup fixture takes place at Blundell Park on Wednesday, 27th August 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on ITV1, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football in the UK. Coverage begins at 7:30pm BST.
