Serie A side Juventus are keeping close eye on the situation of Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
The Uruguayan has never quite convinced since joining from PSG in 2024 and has been a back-up option in midfield this season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that when Uruguay take on Algeria in a friendly at Juve’s Allianz Stadium tomorrow, Ugarte will be the focus of attention for Old Lady sporting director Marco Ottolini.
The Bianconeri have tried to sign the player twice in the past. During his time at Sporting, Ugarte was pursued as a signing and even in July 2025, the Manchester United played was eyed for a loan deal.
Now, he could rise up Juve’s shortlist – especially if impresses tomorrow. With Teun Koopmeiners’ future in doubt, Ugarte is seen as someone who can act as a replacement and come in as a ‘balancer’ of sorts.
The Dutchman remains a target for Galatasaray and there is a chance he leaves in the summer.
